Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions cover how the Rhema Media Photo Competition (the "Competition") works. By entering, you're agreeing to them, so please take a moment to read through.

What's this all about?

We're celebrating the beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand through photography! Winning entries will be featured in two Rhema Media calendars, one for NZ Landscapes and one for NZ Flora & Fauna.

How to enter

Entry is free, and you can submit as many photos as you like across either or both categories. Just make sure the details you provide when entering are accurate and complete.

Categories

All entries need to fit into one of these two categories:

  • NZ Landscapes – scenery, environments, and geographical features of New Zealand

  • NZ Flora & Fauna – plants, animals, birds, insects, and other living things found in New Zealand

Photo requirements

  • Digital files only (camera or smartphone), minimum 1MB

  • No hard copies, watermarks, borders, or signatures

  • Black and white photos are welcome

  • Photos need to be high enough resolution to look great in print

Prizes

We'll be selecting 24 winning photos to appear in our calendars. Each winning photographer will receive a $50 Rubber Monkey voucher. If we don't receive enough high-quality entries, we may award fewer prizes, but we hope that won't be the case!

Winners will be contacted using the details provided at entry. If we can't reach you, or you haven't claimed your prize within two weeks of being notified, your prize may be passed on to another entrant.

Judging and winners

Winners will be chosen by a judging panel and contacted directly via the details provided at the time of entry. The judges' decisions are final.

Who can enter?

The Competition is open to anyone in New Zealand. If you're under 18, you'll need a parent or guardian to agree to these Terms on your behalf before you enter.

Photos of other people

If your photo includes someone who could be identified, please make sure you have their permission (or a parent or guardian's permission if they're under 18) for the photo to be used in this Competition and in the calendars. By submitting the photo, you're confirming that permission has been given.

Your photos, ownership and rights

Your photos are yours. You keep the copyright.

By entering, you're giving Rhema Media permission to use your submitted photos to produce and promote our calendars. This includes things like cropping or resizing for print. We'll do our best to credit photographers where we can, though there may be some contexts (like inside a calendar layout) where that's not always practical.

You're also confirming that the photos are your own original work and don't infringe on anyone else's rights.

Disqualification

We reserve the right to disqualify entries that don't follow these Terms, don't meet basic standards of decency, or are submitted with inaccurate information.

Privacy

We'll use your personal information to run the Competition and get in touch if you win. We may also use it to keep you in the loop about Rhema Media from time to time, but you can opt out of that whenever you like. You're welcome to ask us what information we hold about you at any time.

The fine print

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, Rhema Media won't be liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in the Competition. These Terms are governed by New Zealand law.
